Male Menopause Treatment Options PDF Print E-mail

Once we have enough information to create an accurate diagnosis, we meet with you to create a treatment plan that meets your medical needs, lifestyle and treatment preferences.

Your male menopause treatment may include one or more of the following options:

Treatment of Underlying Conditions

If we have discovered an underlying cause for the hormonal shift (other than aging), we will create a plan to first treat that condition. The plan will include continued monitoring to ensure the hormonal changes and/symptoms begin to resolve.

Lifestyle Changes

We may recommend simple diet and exercise plans to help lessen symptoms.

Medications

Medications, such as antidepressants, may be helpful in reducing the effect of symptoms.

Testosterone Replacement Therapy

While it may help relieve symptoms such as decreased sexual desire, fatigue and depression, there are some risks associated with this therapy. We will carefully explain any lasting effects you may experience.
